      Lessons FAQ's

Lesson FAQ'S

Do I lose flexibility?

No — flexibility is still built into the package structure.
Please let me know at the beginning of each month (or season) if there are dates you are unavailable, and lessons will be scheduled around those times whenever possible.
  • Monthly packages allow for month-to-month adjustments
  • One make-up lesson per month is included for Monthly and Seasonal riders
  • Alternative lesson formats are available if riding or in-person attendance is not possible

Drop-in lessons will remain available for riders requiring maximum flexibility; however, recurring lesson days and times are not guaranteed for drop-in bookings.

What happens if I need to cancel?

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be forfeited.
Monthly and Seasonal riders may access one make-up lesson per month for cancellations made with appropriate notice.

One alternate date (plus one backup option) will be provided for scheduling the make-up.

If neither option can be attended, the lesson will be forfeited.

This policy protects reserved lesson times and ensures fairness across the program.

What happens if I forget to pay in the first week?

Reserved lesson times cannot be held without payment.

If a Monthly or Seasonal package remains unpaid after the first week of the applicable month or season, scheduled lessons will be billed at the Drop-In Lesson rate until the package payment has been received.

Can I switch packages?

Yes. Package selections may be adjusted at the end of a month or season, depending on availability.

What if my horse is not suitable to ride that day or I am unable to attend?

Your scheduled lesson time may be redirected to another productive format, including:

  • A professional training session with your horse
  • A groundwork or in-barn development session
  • A lesson on a school horse
  • A virtual educational session

This allows progress to continue even when riding is not appropriate.

Are packages transferable to another rider?

Lesson packages are reserved specifically for the enrolled rider and are not transferable without prior approval.

What if I want to increase my lessons mid-season?

Additional lessons may be added based on availability.
Any added sessions will be billed at the Drop-In Lesson rate unless otherwise discussed.

Will my lesson day and time stay the same?

Monthly and Seasonal riders receive priority scheduling.
A monthly schedule will be sent at the beginning of each month, and consistent lesson days/times will be maintained whenever possible.

Please note that recurring times cannot be guaranteed for Drop-In bookings.

Do I have to book a certain number of lessons monthly or seasonally for those packages?

No — Monthly and Seasonal packages are flexible.
You may register for as many or as few lessons as best support your goals and availability.

When do packages renew?
Monthly and Seasonal packages renew at the beginning of each billing cycle unless otherwise arranged in advance.

What happens if lessons are cancelled due to weather or facility closures?

In the event of unsafe weather or unavoidable facility closures, an alternate lesson format or make-up option will be provided.

Can I pause my package?

Package pauses may be considered on a case-by-case basis for veterinary lay-ups or medical situations with advance notice.

What happens if Caylyn needs to cancel?

If a lesson must be cancelled by Horseplay & Harmony, a make-up lesson or alternate format will be offered.

Can I receive a refund if I or my horse are injured?

All lesson packages are non-refundable.

However, in the event of injury or medical circumstances affecting you or your horse, packages may be paused on a case-by-case basis with advance notice.

The goal is to support recovery while maintaining fairness within the structure of the program.
