Trick Horse Clinics
What do you cover in the clinics?
I teach introduction, intermediate and advanced clinics. I also offer special courses for young horses and foals!
The Introductory Course is taught in two days (at once or two separate clinics). We cover the basic and advanced hug, smile, say 'no', basic ground control (start to liberty maneauvers), wave, pedestal work, nose to target, target mats, two legged bow and the introduction to the one knee bow.
The Intermediate Course is also taught in two days (at once or two separate clinics). During this clinic we will review and refine the tricks from the introductory course and introduce more advanced tricks including the sit-down, park out, give kisses, curtsy, pull turns, coming to the mounting block, come when called, flag chasing, playing ball and the start to the lay down. One day two we also give you the opportunity to work directly with a professionally trick trained horse to further enhance your techniques!
The Advanced Course allows trick horse enthusiast to continue to refine their techniques, troubleshoot problems they are having and help introduce even more advanced tricks including advancing the lay down, teaching the sit up, kneeling and more!
What do clinics cost?
Clinic's participant costs vary depending on the type of clinic, length of clinic and the host of the clinic. Contact us for details!
What format does the clinic follow?
Trick horse clinics can be done in one or two day formats. We start our clinics with a 45min sit down session to talk about how horses learn, trick horse trainingand safety and what will influence the learning of your horse. We play a couple of fun games to getting everyone thinking about engaging their horses' mind and then we head off to the arena to work with the horses.
A trick session typically lasts 3.5-4 hours. This is the optimal learning time for horses and handlers. Our two day format clinics typically start in the afternoon or evening of a Friday or Saturday and continue into the following morning. One day sessions can be done in mornings, afternoons or evenings.
Our clinics are 100% force-free methods. You'll find no short cuts, gimmicks or tools - just hard work, a positive attitude and plenty of laughs.
What if I don't have a horse, but still would like to learn?
Caylyn loves a challenge, she has trick trained donkeys, goats, mules and even a Zebu cow! You are also welcome to learn trick horse training with one of the amazing Morgans at our farm!
Questions are always welcome. A new world of opportunities with your companion are just an email away.
